There was a lack of top-level action in the UK horse racing results yesterday (Sunday 17 May), which is why we are crossing the Irish Sea to check in on Limerick Racecourse. A total of seven races gave punters a full afternoon to savour. Condition-wise, the going was good.
Ballycorrigan won at 5/1 ahead of 7/4 favourite The Brock Inn in the 14:30 Mares Maiden Hurdle. Eight Till Late was the next winner at 11/2 in the 15:00 Handicap Hurdle. Space Ship also won at 11/2, but this time in the 15:30 Hurdle.
Minella Foru was the first favourite of the day to win at 4/6 in the 16:05 Beginners Chase. Shesaportrait won at 9/4 ahead of 4/6 favourite Burn and Turn in the 16:35 Mares Chase.
Best Value then took the 17:05 Handicap Chase at 14/1, with Prickly winning as the second favourite of the day at 2/1 in the 17:40 INH Flat Race.
